My name is Olivier Xicola. I am French and currently living in Mexico. I began my professional career as an industrial productivity and organization consultant in a Parisian firm. After four years, I decided to take a year off to explore Asia. Upon returning to France for a year, my passion for travel led me to embark on a new journey—this time to the American continent. I started in Cuba and then moved to Mexico.

Following an import-export experience with a Spanish company based in Cuba, I relocated from Mexico City to Taxco, the renowned town of sterling silver jewelry. There, I immersed myself in traditional workshops, learning firsthand the craftsmanship of local jewelers. Inspired, I began creating and selling my own jewelry collection. It was during this time that a well-known Mexican brand (Pineda Covalin) approached me to design for them.

Fifteen years later, I continue designing jewelry for this brand. However, a few years ago, I felt the need to create something that truly reflected my own vision. That’s when I founded my own brand, PURE Design. The journey wasn’t straightforward—I spent six months navigating through different concepts, searching for the right idea. Once I found it, I meticulously designed my collection, researched innovative materials and processes, and developed prototypes. I tested them, discarded everything, and started over—again and again. After three years of relentless experimentation, my 3D-printed jewelry line, “NOIR is the new black,” was finally born.
